The Vice President of Science and Technology, Dr. Sorena Sattari visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town on the 13th of Feb 2017. For this visit he was accompanied by Dr. Rasoul Zargarpour, the Governor of Isfahan, Dr. Mahmoud Sheikh Zeinoddin, deputy of Innovation and Commercialization of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology and Dr. ManouchehrManteghi, the Secretary of the Iranian Aviation Technology Development Headquarter (ATDH).
During his visit the Vice President met with a number of ISTTs settled Knowledge-based companies including Behyar Sanat-e-Sepahan, and also took a tour of the projects currently under construction in the town. At present a Science and Technology Tower is being built at ISTT to provide further office space to newly admitted start-ups, and also ISTTs second Science and Technology Park, Abu Reyhan which is specialized for the admission of Oil, Gas and Energy related companies is near completion.
At the press conference, Dr. Sattari praised Isfahan’s on look towards the Knowledge-Based Economy and reiterated that Isfahan’s future development will be determined by the Knowledge-Based Economy. He then pointed to the influence of knowledge-based companies on entrepreneurism and the creation of jobs thus far, and added that no other economic sector has been able to produce this amount of added value attractive to the country's youth and fresh graduates. He also expressed his opinion that Science and Technology Parks are a most suitable platform for inducing sustainable development and that such platforms should be created near cities providing ease of reach to city residents.
